Human Resources Manager

Position Summary
The HRBP is responsible for leading all human resources activities for the plant and serving as a trusted business partner to plant leadership, supervisors, and employees. This hands-on role oversees recruiting, employee relations, training, payroll, benefits, compliance, performance management, and workforce development while supporting a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Plant Manager and leadership team on workforce planning, employee relations, organizational needs, and HR initiatives.
- Provide coaching and guidance to supervisors and managers on performance, attendance, employee relations, policy interpretation, and disciplinary matters.
- Conduct confidential employee investigations and ensure appropriate documentation and follow-up.
- Promote a positive, respectful, inclusive, and productive workplace culture.
- Support employee engagement, retention, recognition, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage recruiting process and selection for hourly, salaried, skilled trade, and administrative positions.
- Coordinate plant training programs, including operator, safety, compliance, leadership, and required annual training.
- Perform payroll and timekeeping processes, including regular pay, overtime, shift differentials, incentives, and employee changes.
- Support administration of health and welfare benefits, 401(k), disability, COBRA, and other employee benefit programs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HRIS information.
- Manage or support labor relations activities, including grievances and contract administration, where applicable.
- Partner with Safety and plant leadership on workers compensation, return-to-work, safety training, and workplace safety initiatives and maintain knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, COBRA, OSHA-related requirements, and other applicable regulations.
- Monitor and report on headcount, turnover, labor costs, absenteeism, overtime, staffing, training, and other workforce metrics. Analyze HR trends and provide recommendations to plant leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with employee relations, recruiting, training, performance management, payroll, and HR compliance.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Labor relations experience preferred/required where applicable.
- Strong computer and HRIS skills; ADP and eTime experience preferred.
- PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
