Job Title: Human Resources (HR) Manager

Duration: 6 Months
Location: Universal City, CA 91608
Work Schedule: Hybrid (Minimum 4 days per week onsite)

Job Summary

The Human Resources (HR) Manager will lead employee relations and workplace investigations by conducting thorough, impartial, and timely investigations into employee concerns. This role partners closely with management, HR, and legal teams to resolve complex employee relations matters while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has extensive experience supporting both union and non-union workforces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent, confidential, and comprehensive investigations into sensitive and complex employee relations issues.
  • Interview employees, managers, and witnesses; gather and evaluate evidence; determine findings; and prepare detailed investigation reports.
  • Partner with management and HR to resolve employee relations concerns and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assist with preparing disciplinary documentation and ensuring consistent application of company policies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized investigation processes and case documentation procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of investigations, case notes, and supporting documentation within a centralized case management system.
  • Analyze employee relations data to identify trends and recommend proactive solutions to mitigate workplace issues.
  • Partner with HR leadership to review and improve employee programs, policies, and practices that foster a positive work environment.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers and HR partners on complex employee relations matters while ensuring consistent policy enforcement.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel when necessary to ensure investigations are completed accurately and in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality while managing multiple high-priority cases and meeting deadlines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience with a strong focus on Employee Relations.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience conducting complex workplace investigations and partnering with legal counsel.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and labor regulations.
  • Experience supporting both union and non-union employee populations.
  • Excellent communication, interviewing, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Experience driving HR processes in a fast-paced, high-volume, matrixed organization.
  • Strong facilitation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational execution.
  • Experience using employee relations case management systems such as Oracle, CaseIQ, i-Sight, or similar platforms.
  • Previous experience within a unionized workforce and/or hospitality, entertainment, or service industry environment.
  • Experience developing and implementing employee relations programs and process improvements.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends or holidays as business needs require.

  • Hybrid work model with a minimum of four days per week onsite.
  • Fast-paced, collaborative environment supporting employee relations and HR operations.
  • Must consistently maintain attendance and meet business deadlines.
