    Job Responsibilities:

    Position Overview

    The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing a wide range of HR duties and functions, including recruitment and onboarding, training and development, HRIS administration, and benefits. The HR Generalist works closely with the HR team and other departments to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and to provide exceptional customer service to employees.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Promotes positive employee relations and employee engagement through effective communication, relationship-building, employee advocacy, and by serving as a champion of Magna's Employee Charter and Open Door Process.
    • Provides support to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
    • Manages and drives student programs, including co-op rotations, internship programs, campus partnerships, and student presentations.
    • Facilitates employee annual open enrollment activities, including enrollment and administration of medical, dental, vision, and ancillary benefit programs. Assists employees with benefit-related inquiries, changes, and enrollments.
    • Administers employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, leaves of absence, wellness programs, disability programs, employee assistance programs, and other company-sponsored benefits.
    • Assists in the administration and execution of human resource programs including compensation, benefits, leave administration, employee relations, employee recognition, morale initiatives, occupational health and safety, and organizational development.
    • Supports immigration-related activities, including visa renewals, I-94 updates, work permits, and employment-related travel documentation.
    • Maintains the HRIS system, employee records, and personnel files, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, confidentiality, and compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
    • Supports payroll processes by reviewing and approving employee transactions, auditing payroll-related data, ensuring the timely processing of personnel changes, and partnering with Payroll to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate employee records.
    • Develops and maintains HRIS documentation, procedures, and user guides.
    • Maintains strict confidentiality of employee information and sensitive data, whether verbal, written, or electronically transmitted.
    • Assists in the development, maintenance, communication, and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and the Employee Handbook.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and reviews policies and practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
    • Supports workplace health and safety initiatives by promoting compliance with organizational objectives, safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and required training programs.
    • Prepares employee communications, presentations, announcements, and other HR materials, and maintains related content on company intranet and SharePoint platforms.
    • Supports company meetings, employee events, recognition programs, and special HR projects as assigned.
    • Supports workforce planning, organizational development, and change management initiatives that align with business objectives and talent strategies.
    • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a human resource capacity
    • Previous experience in a Magna group or division preferred

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources,
