Human Resources Generalist
Job Location: Stockton, California
Job Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: $24-$25/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8am-4:30pm
Description of Position:
Do you have experience as a HR Generalist? Our client is looking for a temporary HR Generalist to cover a leave of absence for the next few months. This assignment has the potential to be extended for the right candidate. The schedule will be approximately 3-4 days per week in the office. We're looking for an organized, detail oriented professional with strong administrative skills and experience using Microsoft Office. Experience with HR software or the trucking/logistics industry is a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
Distribute and collect new hire paperwork and educate employees on company policies and procedures
Conduct employment verifications
Create and maintain personnel, medical, termination, and DOT qualification files
Maintain employee records and update information in databases and spreadsheets
Assist employees with time clock entries and updates in the Paycom system
Track and update the DOT random drug screening pool
File payroll, personnel, and compliance documents
Assist with quarterly employee events and annual company functions

You will be supporting a well-established trucking company in Stockton, California.
Experience Required:
Previous HR Generalist or Human Resources experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of federal and state labor laws
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong grammar, organization, and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
Experience with HRIS systems, Paycom, or the trucking/logistics industry is a plus
