JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing support and delivery of human resources services. Responsibilities include recruitment strategies and hiring, employee onboarding, verifying and completing all compliance related background investigations in accordance with company policy, workers compensation, maintenance and reporting of employee records, employee education and training, employee relations/investigations support, and policy and procedure development and interpretation. Ensures compliance with all company policies, state and federal employment laws and regulations in all aspects of the job.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Plans, organizes, and oversees all activities of facility HR function.
  • Responsible for the recruitment strategies and hiring of assigned positions including screening applicants and making recommendations to hiring managers. Networks with appropriate community and educational personnel to facilitate brand and facility recognition. Also responsible for maintaining job postings, corresponding with applicants, processing background and reference checks, arranging all pre-employment screening, extending employment offers, processing new hire and benefits paperwork and tracking applicant data. Conducts exit interviews.
  • Maintains accurate employee information within HRIS and other applicable systems, including new hires, employee changes, terminations, and other employment-related updates.
  • Assists employees and leadership with leave of absence processes, including FMLA and other applicable federal, state, and company leave programs, in coordination with appropriate HR resources.
  • Execute communication with new hires for comprehensive onboarding experience and schedule facility orientation for all new employees. Ensures smooth transition to on-the-job training occurs. Responsible for orienting new employees to the organization including required paperwork and benefits education and enrollment.
  • Tracks and maintains current records of license and required credentials. Notifies staff in a timely manner to ensure there are no gaps in compliance.
  • Receives, records and files documents pertaining to Human Resources. Maintains accurate and current personnel and human resources files.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Provides guidance and support to supervisory staff on employee relations matters and partners with the Executive Director and/or Regional HR support on complex or sensitive issues.
  • Consults and provides support to supervisory staff on performance issues and performance management process. 
  • Manages and oversees the facility worker’s compensation responsibilities, including ensuring timely and accurate filing of claims: reporting events to the insurance carrier, coordinating treatment with occupational health providers, following up with appropriate individuals as necessary until event is closed, documenting all follow-up. Reviews claims for trends and training opportunities and coordinates with Executive Director when appropriate. Ensures compliance with related policies, laws and regulations.
  • Answers routine questions pertaining to human resources. Refers questions or escalated concerns as appropriate to the Executive Director. 
  • Partners with facility leadership to support employee engagement, retention initiatives, recognition programs, and efforts to promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Follows instructions and complete daily assignments as assigned and is proactive to change.
  • Possesses understanding and compassion for the elderly population.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated strong recruitment success and onboarding experience.
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of human resource related laws and regulations, both federal and state. 
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff utilizing excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual preferred due to the communication needs of the position.
  • Superior organizational skills; results-focus with superb execution and follow-through; highly detail-oriented.
  • Efficient, highly productive multi-tasker; self-motivated and flexible.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for compensation and benefits.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint); familiarity with HRIS systems.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and organizational information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field and a minimum of four years of related human resources experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional Human Resources (PHR) preferred.
  • Must be capable of performing the Essential Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
