    GENERAL PURPOSE

    Applications are being accepted for a Human Resources Generalist position at Northwest State Community College. The Human Resources Generalist will focus efforts on researching, developing, and implementing effective recruiting strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified talent for the college. This position is responsible for all aspects of the candidate experience, including sourcing candidates, interviewing applicants, and moving them through the hiring process. This position will also work closely with hiring managers to understand their immediate and future needs, and work to build a talent pipeline in each area.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions while using effective recruiting strategies.

    2. Assists with the promotion and branding of the College to help attract high-quality candidates.

    3. Collaborates with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

    4. Develops and delivers search committee training regarding hiring best practices and College selection procedures.

    5. Promotes open positions through job postings and advertising, including College website, social media, and any other applicable sites.

    6. Attends Job Fairs as needed.

    7. Updates and maintains Applicant Tracking System for both full-time and part-time openings.

    8. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.

    9. Prepares offer letters.

    10. Collaborates with leaders across campus to create and maintain detailed and accurate job descriptions.

    11. Conducts stay interviews, collects and analyzes data, compiles themes, and develops action items based on themes.

    12. Cross-trains with Human Resources team to be able to support all areas of the department, including serving as the back-up for employee onboarding and benefits.

    13. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

    14. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and organization's policies. Recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

    15. Special projects and other similar duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources, Business or related field.
    • Three or more years of relevant experience required.
    • Recent experience recruiting multiple discipline areas and levels, including hiring for nonexempt, exempt, and leadership positions preferred.
    • HR certification preferred.

    Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Experience in all areas of sourcing such as internet, social media, networking, employee referrals, job postings, as well as job fairs.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Highly organized with strong follow-up skills and ability to multitask.
    • Proficient with computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, applicant tracking, and other HRIS applications.
    • A customer service focus is a must.
    • Ability to demonstrate experience and knowledge of employment law and benefit administration with a commitment to honesty, integrity and confidentiality.
    • Must also possess the ability to make decisions without direct supervision.
