Human Resources Director
Kansas City Market | Full-Time | Exempt | Onsite Multi-Site Leadership Role
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to provide strategic HR leadership across two acute care hospitals within the Kansas City market. This highly visible role partners directly with CEOs, executive leadership teams, and operational leaders to drive employee relations, retention, workforce planning, onboarding, compliance, engagement, leadership development, and HR operations in a fast-paced, non-union healthcare environment.
Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS - Approximately 400 licensed beds
Saint John Hospital – Leavenworth, KS - Approximately 76 licensed beds
Responsibilities:
- Partner with executive leadership on workforce strategy, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement
- Lead employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, corrective actions, and performance management
- Drive onboarding, retention, leadership development, succession planning, and workforce stability initiatives
- Analyze workforce metrics including turnover, overtime, vacancy rates, FTE utilization, and labor trends
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, HR policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
- Lead, mentor, and develop HR teams while driving accountability and operational excellence
- Partner with corporate HR to implement system initiatives and best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 3 Years of related healthcare experience required.
- Must be familiar with the hospital organization; functions of various departments; current personnel practices and techniques, including review techniques; training methods; and job analysis.
- Familiar with the labor market, laws, wage and hour regulations, and ERISA guidelines preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal wage and hour regulations required.
- Familiar with Joint Commission and HFAP standards.
