The Human Resources team at Colorado School of Mines is seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented HR

Coordinator (Program Assistant I) to serve as the front door to HR while supporting a wide variety of recruitment,

onboarding, and benefits administration initiatives. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who

important role in delivering exceptional service to faculty, staff, students, applicants, and campus visitors.

What Youll Do

As the HR Coordinator, you will be the primary point of contact for the Human Resources office and provide critical administrative and program support across the organization.

Customer Service & HR Operations

  • Welcome and assist faculty, staff, students, job candidates, and visitors
  • Respond to walk-in, phone, email, and online inquiries
  • Manage shared HR inboxes and triage requests appropriately
  • Conduct employment background checks and maintain vendor relationships
  • Support recruitment activities, interview logistics, and hiring processes
  • Assist with HR communications, website updates, reporting, and document management
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information

Systems & Administrative Support

  • Provide front-line support for HR systems including Workday, applicant tracking systems, and learning management platforms
  • Maintain HR records and electronic files
  • Coordinate onboarding sessions, trainings, and recurring HR programs
  • Create presentations, reports, spreadsheets, and other HR resources
  • Manage SharePoint and support department-wide administrative processes

Event Coordination

  • Assist with employee recognition events, onboarding programs, job fairs, wellness initiatives, and training sessions
  • Coordinate rooms, catering, communications, materials, and logistics
  • Support department projects and strategic initiatives as needed

This position is a fully in-person role located on the Colorado School of Mines campus in Golden, Colorado.
