The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for the accurate, timely, and professional execution of assigned administrative, transactional, and coordination functions within the Human Resources Department. The position maintains primary responsibility for recruitment and pre-employment administration, onboarding coordination, routine HRIS transactions, payroll-interface activities, training administration, personnel-record maintenance, policy-acknowledgment tracking, employment verification, records support, EEO and unemployment administrative work, and other assigned HR coordination activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains responsibility for posting approved positions and maintaining complete and accurate applicant and posting records.
  • Coordinates candidate communications, interview scheduling, confirmations, instructions, and related recruitment correspondence.
  • Coordinates background-check administration, pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, and other approved pre-employment requirements in accordance with established procedures.
  • Prepares routine offer and pre-employment documentation for appropriate review and approval and monitors outstanding requirements through completion.
  • Maintains primary responsibility for onboarding administration, new-hire paperwork, pre-start coordination, and orientation scheduling and logistics.
  • Prepares and maintains orientation materials, schedules, communications, and completion records.
  • Enters approved new-hire information into the HRIS accurately and within required timelines.
  • Tracks incomplete documentation and follows up on outstanding administrative requirements.
  • Coordinates with the Sr. HR Generalist regarding orientation content and other matters requiring professional HR expertise.
  • Maintains primary responsibility for routine HRIS data entry and employee transaction processing.
  • Processes approved employee, benefit, payroll-related, training, and other authorized HR transactions in applicable systems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements (A combination of the following experience and training would be qualifying:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of progressively responsible administrative, office, records, customer-service, payroll, or human resources support experience requiring accuracy, confidentiality, and coordination of multiple priorities.
  • Experience using standard office software, maintaining electronic records, preparing routine correspondence or reports, and entering data into business information systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and provide professional service to employees, applicants, managers, and the public.
  • Prior experience in a human resources, payroll, benefits, recruiting, or public-sector administrative environment.
  • Experience with an HRIS, applicant tracking system, payroll system, electronic records system, or similar enterprise software.
