Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our Corporate Human Resources team. This role serves as a trusted partner to employees and leaders across the organization, supporting a broad range of Human Resources functions including employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, leave administration, compliance, HRIS administration, employee engagement, training, and performance management.

Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted HR resource to employees and leaders, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related matters.
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, transfers, promotions, and offboarding.
- Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
- Administer salaried employee leave programs, including FMLA and other protected leaves.
- Maintain accurate HRIS and personnel records while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Prepare employment verifications, state new hire reporting, tax credit screenings, and other employment documentation.
- Support performance management processes, employee engagement initiatives, and leadership development efforts.
- Partner with leaders on employee relations, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and talent development.
- Assist with benefits administration and provide backup support during open enrollment and other benefits activities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Prepare HR reports, support audits, analyze workforce data, and participate in special projects.
- Assist with internal communications and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
- Three to five years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience as a Business Partner, Generalist or similar role preferred.
- Experience supporting multiple HR disciplines including employee relations, recruiting, leave administration, performance management, compliance, and HRIS administration.
- Working knowledge of employment laws including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
- Experience with HRIS systems; UKG experience is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
