Description

Position Summary:

Benefits Specialists are responsible for managing the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-and long-term disability, 401(k) plan, and leaves of absences.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
  • Distributes all benefit enrollment materials and determines eligibility
  • Enrolling employees with benefit vendors and process status changes
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Administer COBRA enrollment
  • Reconciliation of bills
  • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personnel, disability and FMLA.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Responds to 401(k) inquiries related to enrollments contribution changes; reviews weekly transfers before transmitting contributions to the 401(k) administrator; assist with annual audit process.
  • Assist with the open enrollment process.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, which include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhering to ethical standards.
  • Actively helping team members when needed and celebrating team achievements collectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with community-based organizations, patients, families, vendors, and other resources to promote client services, care, education, and advocacy.

Knowledge, Education, and Experience:

  • BS degree in human resources, business administration, or finance
  • Two to five years' experience in HR and/or benefits administration required
  • Strong knowledge of current labor rules and regulations
  • Familiarity with various types of incentives and benefits
  • Extensive knowledge of HRIS, specifically Dayforce, and MS Office

Employment Status: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Work Location: Irvine, CA - HYBRID

Compensation: Pay Range: $26-32/hr.
