Human Resources Assistant Reports to: Human Resources Manager Pay Rate: $18 - $25 per hour based on experience Position Summary The HR Assistant provides administrative and project support to Mirabito’s HR Operations team, including payroll, benefits, HR systems, recruiting, and general HR administration. The position helps ensure that employee information is accurate, transactions are completed timely, and employees and managers receive responsive support. This role supports day-to-day operations and special projects involving system implementations, process improvements, reporting, data audits, compliance, and employee communications. The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, comfortable learning new systems, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities HR Operations and Administration - Provide administrative support to payroll, benefits, HRIS, recruiting, and HR administration team members.
- Enter, update, and maintain employee information in HR, payroll, benefits, recruiting, and related systems.
- Assist with the processing of new-hire information, employee changes, transfers, terminations, and other routine HR transactions.
- Maintain organized electronic records, forms, correspondence, and HR documentation.
- Respond to routine employee and manager questions and route more complex matters to the appropriate HR team member.
- Contact employees as needed for information requests, benefits enrollment reminders, and other inquiries.
Payroll, Benefits, and HRIS Support - Assist with payroll preparation, data entry, timekeeping follow-up, employee changes, and accuracy reviews.
- Support benefit enrollments, eligibility changes, employee communications, provider documentation, and annual enrollment activities.
- Assist with HRIS data entry, system testing, reports, file preparation, data validation, and correction of discrepancies.
Recruiting and Onboarding Support - Assist with job postings, applicant tracking, candidate communications, and recruiting documentation.
- Support background checks, offer documentation, new-hire paperwork, system entry, orientation materials, and hiring-manager follow-up.
- Help provide an organized and responsive candidate and new-hire experience.
Process Improvement and Special Projects - Assist with documenting procedures, workflows, checklists, calendars, and standard operating procedures.
- Support special projects involving data cleanup, reporting, compliance, process improvement, employee communications, and system implementations.
- Help identify opportunities to simplify administrative work, improve accuracy, and reduce manual processes.
- Prepare routine spreadsheets, reports, presentations, and other materials as assigned.
