The Opportunity:

Homer Electric Association (HEA) is a member-owned electric utility serving the central and southern areas of the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska! We are excited to be seeking a Human Resources and Administrative Services Manager to join our team at our Homer, Alaska, location.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and oversee all Human Resources including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits, compensation, policy administration, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with leadership to recruit, develop, and retain employees while providing guidance on performance management, employee relations, disciplinary matters, and organizational development.
  • Assist with administration of labor relations, including interpretation of the collective bargaining agreement, grievance administration, and participation in collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Direct compensation and classification programs, employee benefits, compliance reporting, workforce planning, and HR programs that support organizational goals.
  • Manage the Administrative Services team and operations, including records management, administrative support functions, budgeting, and process improvement.
  • Lead the development, coordination, and delivery of employee and supervisor training programs to support regulatory compliance, legal requirements, and organizational objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted member of the management team by supporting strategic initiatives, emergency response planning, and organizational decision-making while exercising sound independent judgment and maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.

What makes you a good fit:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Human Resources or a related field is required. In lieu of the degree requirement, an additional eight (8) years of applicable experience may replace the degree requirement.
  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the human resources field ideally, including labor relations.
  • Must submit a valid Alaska Driver's license within 90 days of hire date, and maintain a good driving record
