The Department of Environmental Quality/Office of Management and Finance has a vacancy.

The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality's (LDEQ) mission is to provide service to the people of Louisiana through comprehensive environmental protection in order to promote and protect health, safety and welfare.

Join a dedicated Human Resources team that supports more than 700 employees across multiple LDEQ offices. In this position, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate payroll and benefits administration, maintaining data integrity, and supporting critical compliance functions that keep the agency running smoothly. Minimum Qualifications

Three years of human resources experience; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Payroll & Benefits Support - Maintain and analyze payroll, benefits, retirement, and timekeeping data in LaGov HCM to ensure accuracy and timely processing.

  • Reporting & Auditing - Generate, audit, and reconcile HR reports used to monitor personnel actions, data integrity, and compliance across multiple divisions.

  • Employee Administration - Process separations, reallocations, permanent status actions, and other personnel transactions while ensuring documentation accuracy.

  • Agency & Vendor Coordination - Communicate with OGB, LASERS, TRSL, OSUP, and other agencies to resolve benefits, retirement, and payroll matters.

  • Special Projects & Support - Assist with policy development, crisis leave administration, PPA processing, and serve as backup within the Benefits and Payroll Consultant Group.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: This position may be filled as either a probational appointment, job appointment (a temporary appointment not to exceed four years), or promotion of permanent classified employee. If the position is filled as a job appointment, it could be converted to a probational appointment should funding become available.

Domicile: East Baton Rouge

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Human Resouces Analyst A, B, C or Human Resources Specialist depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.

Compensation: This position offers a Special Entrance Rate (SER) listed below. This is the minimum compensation that may be offered. The job title and salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

  • Human Resources Analyst A: $20.20 per hour
  • Human Resources Analyst B: $21.61 per hour
  • Human Resources Analyst C: $24.31 per hour
  • Human Resources Specialist: $26.01 per hour
