Summary
The City of Lawrence, KS, is seeking a Human Resources Advisor to support departments across the organization, with a primary focus on training and development and performance appraisal management. This position operates with a high degree of independence and serves as a trusted resource for HR practices.

Thorough knowledge of human resources principles and practices, including employee relations, recruitment, and policy interpretation. Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
Ability to analyze complex situations, exercise sound judgment, and provide clear guidance. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with professionalism.
High school or GED required. Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or public administration, or a related field, preferred. Five (5) years of progressively responsible human resources experience.
