    Description

    Supports and assists management in the daily operations of the Human Resources Department.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Greets HR visitors daily, answers various questions including those regarding position openings, and distributes HR mail daily.
    • Create and maintain HR related reports.
    • Maintain confidential accurate physical and digital personnel files, update HR databases and reports.
    • Assist with processing payroll maintenance information for bi-weekly payroll and ability to process payroll as needed.
    • File new applicants, rehires and maintenance from previous payroll.
    • Monitor and process payroll Turnaround Report from ADP Reporting System and distribute to respective departments.
    • Proof, copy, and file disciplinary letters; completes and with VP approval completes letters for all No Call/No Show and Job Walk Off resignations.
    • Processes employee injury reports as received.
    • Complete required information for Workers Compensation Claims for VP approval, and submits Workers Compensation reports in a timely manner via internet.
    • Maintain Workers Compensation files.
    • Complete required information for Unemployment Claims for VP approval, and submits claim in a timely manner.
    • Reviews drug screening invoices and approves payment.
    • Assists with job fairs and recruitments.
    • Maintains supplies and provides clerical support to other staff members as needed.
    • Monitor newspaper for employee and/or related deaths and sends flowers.
    • Requires application ability of MS Word/Excel, Adobe, and ADP Payroll/Workforce System or ability to learn the ADP Payroll/Workforce System and AI application.
    • Complete appropriate trainings listed on the human resources Training Matrix.
    • Adhere to Wheeling Park Commission's safety rules and policy; refer any and all safety concerns to department manager, safety committee or human resources.
    • Interact with the public with a cheerful and positive attitude, solve guest problems and complaints in a proper manner, and maintain harmonious working relationships with fellow employees.

    Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

    Computer competency, MSWord/Excel, Adobe, Microsoft Outlook

    Time management

    High level of discretion for handling confidential information

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
