Position Summary
The Human Resources Administrative Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for all aspects of hiring and firing including coordinating with upper management
- Assist with recruitment activities including job postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, and new hire documentation
- Coordinate and conduct new hire onboarding and orientation
- Maintain employee personnel files, HRIS records, and confidential documentation
- Support timekeeping and payroll processes, including timecard review and corrections
- Serve as an employee point of contact for basic HR-related questions and refer complex issues to the HR Manager
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee communications
- Track employee leaves, attendance, and required documentation
- Support compliance with company policies, labor laws, and internal procedures
- Prepare routine HR reports and maintain department records
- Assist with performance management processes as directed
- Coordinate training sessions and maintain training records
- Support employee engagement initiatives and internal communications
- Promote and support employee engagement and rapport by assisting in breakroom operations during scheduled break periods
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in human resources or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of HR, administrative, or office experience; manufacturing environment preferred
- Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle data collection and entry accurately while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS/timekeeping systems including isolved, ADP and Paycom
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Sit for prolonged periods of time, use of neck in a static position, stand and walk frequently
- Lift, carry, push and pull up to 10 lbs. frequently and up to 30 lbs. occasionally
- Bend, twist, squat, kneel and stoop occasionally
- Use of both hands to grasp, hold and finely manipulate frequently
- Reach in front frequently and above shoulder and head level occasionally
- Office environment with frequent interaction on the production floor
