Position Summary:
 
Umbra Cuscinetti, Inc is an Everett Washington company specializing in engineered and manufactured motion control products to the aerospace and energy markets. Umbra has been designing and manufacturing precision ball screws and high precision components for the aerospace industry for 50 years. This position coordinates the day-to-day Human Resources functions for UMBRA CUSCINETTI, INC in the Everett WA facility.  The Human Resources Generalist will assist, and support other business units as needed.  He or she will apply Human Resources principles and concepts in the areas of benefits administration, recruitment/selection, performance management, employee relations, compliance with reporting requirements of regulatory agencies and Federal and State law interpretation. The initial primary focus of this position will be recruitment and benefits.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Assists in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Assists the HR team in executing day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, auditing, and employee relations.
  • Assists HR leadership in the development and implementation of HR policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure compliance with legal regulations and best practices.
  • Provides guidance and support to management and employees on HR-related matters.
  • Assists organizational development efforts to foster a positive work culture and employee engagement.
  • Responsible for HR reporting/metrics and analyzing data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Assists with disciplinary actions for employees’ workers in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsible for all aspects of talent acquisition and recruiting including, but not limited to, writing job descriptions, use of approved social media, posting open positions, working with recruiters, screening resumes, scheduling and participating in interviews, preparing job offers, handling pre-employment testing, onboarding, I-9s, and running the employee referral program.
  • Responsible for successfully offboarding employees and workers.
  • Assists in all employee evaluations and performance appraisals including training of managers, goal setting, talent development, succession planning, compensation planning and on-time completion.
  • Responsible for successfully competing Affirmative Action Plan, EEO and Vets reporting.
  • AS9100D Training Procedure which includes keeping all training documents.
  • Assists with employee performance initiatives and employee recognition programs.
  • Prepare severance packages and termination paperwork.
  • Prepares the holiday calendar, organizational announcements, organizational charts,
phone listings, PowerPoint presentations, Townhall material, and other HR related items.
  • Assists in creating, updating, distributing, posting, and training employees on the handbook, code of conduct, new regulations, required posters, and HR policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Assists in labor relations including, but not limited to, counseling, investigations, corrective actions, and complaint resolution
  • Assists in participating in training team, staff meetings, and Management Review meetings.
  • Responsible for partnering with the HR team in Michigan
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

Education/Experience:
  • Due to ITAR regulations, must be a U.S. Person.
  • 3 years’ experience in Human Resources.
  • 3 years’ experience in a Human Resources Management position.
  • Previous experience in dealing with a broad spectrum of employee issues including employee counseling.
  • Ability to manage conflict.
  • Proficient in Federal and State laws that apply to employment (wage and hour, leaves of absence, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including comfort in making presentations, facilitating discussions, and delivering disciplines and terminations.
  • Ability to multi-task during various levels of interruption.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
 
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Paycor
  • Experience with FMLA
 
Language, Reasoning and Speaking Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents, write reports, correspondence, contract language and job descriptions that are complex in nature. Ability to speak effectively before groups of people.
 
Computer Skills:
Must be computer literate, and knowledgeable in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
