    Major/Essential Functions

    Essential Functions
    • Assist with didactic instruction in undergraduate nursing courses as assigned.
    • Provide clinical instruction, supervision, and evaluation in a specified clinical area and/or the simulation laboratory.
    • Evaluate student performance and clinical competency using established course and program criteria.
    • Provide timely, constructive feedback to faculty regarding student performance, progression, and learning achievements.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned course content and learning activities.
    • Facilitate student learning through effective teaching strategies, coaching, mentoring, and role modeling of professional nursing practice.
    • Maintain compliance with TTUHSC, School of Nursing, clinical agency, and accreditation standards and requirements.
    • Maintain records and documentation related to instruction and student evaluation as required.
    • Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and clinical partners.
    • Participate in faculty development and orientation activities as required.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the academic mission of the Health Sciences Center and the School of Nursing.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and healthcare trends.
    • Knowledge of principles of adult learning and student evaluation.
    • Ability to teach and supervise students in clinical and simulation environments.
    • Ability to assess student learning needs and support achievement of course outcomes.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relationships.
    • Ability to use educational technologies and electronic documentation systems.

    Employment Classification

    • Non-tenure track adjunct faculty appointment.
    • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all TTUHSC employment requirements, including credential verification, licensure verification, and background screening, as applicable.

    Required Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.

    Visa Information

    TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
