POSITION:Custodian PROGRAM: MAOF Head Start/Early Head Start Program SALARY: $19.25 - $21.97 Per Hour REPORTS TO:Facilities Coordinator, Area Supervisor and/or Designee FLSA STATUS:Non-Exempt, Part-Time
GENERAL SUMMARY:
RESPONSIBILITIES Under the general guidance of the Area Supervisor/Facilities Coordinator, and/or Designee, Custodial Supervisor and the direction of the Center Head Teacher, following the established MAOF Head Start procedures, utilizes and devises methods and procedures to ensure the proper care and maintenance of the MAOF Head Start/Early Head Start facilities and equipment.

USE OF EQUIPMENT AND VEHICLES Custodial staff may use equipment, tools, machinery, and vehicles that are necessary to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming early childhood learning environment. Because these items are valuable and essential to daily operations, employees are expected to use MAOF property responsibly, follow all operating instructions, and comply with applicable safety standards and procedures. Employees must promptly notify their supervisor if any equipment, tools, machinery, or vehicles appear damaged, defective, unsafe, or in need of maintenance. Timely reporting helps prevent further damage and reduces the risk of injury to employees, children, and visitors. Employees should contact their supervisor with any questions regarding the proper care, maintenance, or safe operation of assigned equipment or vehicles. Improper, careless, negligent, or unsafe use of equipment or vehicles, including avoidable traffic or parking violations, may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described below represent those required to successfully perform the essential duties of the Custodian position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, perform repetitive movements, and use their hands to handle or operate objects, tools, machinery, and equipment. The employee must also be able to communicate effectively with others. The position may occasionally require sitting and reaching with the hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds. Required vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The position may also require the safe operation of an agency or personal vehicle when assigned
