The Company:
Czarnowski is one of the four studios of the Czarnowski Collective. It combines operations, strategy, design, and fabrication to create exhibits and events that engage communities, generate brand enthusiasm, and educate consumers. It’s been over 75 years since we opened our doors, but we’re still not resting on our reputation or accolades. We’re wondering “what if...” anticipating what’s next and embracing our role within the Czarnowski Collective as forward-thinkers for forward-thinking brands.
Joining the Czarnowski Collective means the opportunity to be more than a number, more than a job title, more than a spectator. We are a collective of dreamers and thinkers, doers, and makers…and we’re searching for more of the same to join the ranks.
The Purpose:
We are looking for an HRIS Manager to join our team! In this role, you will take ownership of Czarnowski Collective's HR systems and people data, serving as the hands-on leader of our HRIS function. You will personally configure, administer, maintain, and enhance UKG and connected systems while driving the overall strategy, roadmap, reporting, data integrity, and vendor relationships that support our people operations. This is a build-and-run opportunity where you'll play a key role in optimizing processes, improving system capabilities, and ensuring our HR technology solutions scale with the needs of the business. Initially, this is an individual contributor role without direct reports, giving you the opportunity to make an immediate impact while building a strong foundation for future growth.
The Job:
- Serve as the primary administrator of the HRIS (UKG) configuration, security roles, workflows, business rules, and system maintenance — performing the work directly.
- Own the accuracy and integrity of core people data; establish data-governance standards, audits, and routine clean-up to correct incomplete or incorrect records.
- Manage system modules and their rollout (e.g., core HR, time and attendance, and future compensation and performance modules), including configuration and testing.
- Troubleshoot system issues, manage cases with the vendor, and coordinate updates, releases, and enhancements.
- Own integrations and data flows between the HRIS and connected systems (payroll, benefits, ATS, and time), ensuring interfaces run reliably.
- Build and maintain standard and ad hoc reports and dashboards; deliver workforce metrics and people analytics to HR and business leaders.
- Support compliance and audit reporting (EEO, ACA, and union or CBA-related audits) with accurate, timely data.
- Ensure system data practices meet applicable privacy and data-protection requirements across the footprint, including GDPR considerations for the Cologne population.
- Partner with Payroll and Total Rewards to ensure data supporting pay, benefits, and compensation is accurate and reconciled.
- Own the HRIS roadmap and prioritize enhancements against business needs and People Operations goals.
- Lead HR-systems projects, including module implementations, optimizations, and system components of M&A integration (migrating and harmonizing acquired-company data and populations).
- Manage HRIS vendor and consultant relationships, contracts, and renewals, and hold partners accountable to service levels.
- Document processes and configuration and enable HR users through training and support so the function does not depend on tribal knowledge.
The Person:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of hands-on HRIS experience, including direct system administration and configuration (UKG / UltiPro strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated ownership of an HRIS end to end — not solely report-writing or data entry — including data integrity, integrations, and enhancements.
- Strong reporting and analytics skills; able to turn people data into clear metrics for leaders.
- Experience with system implementations, module rollouts, or M&A / data-integration projects preferred.
- Working knowledge of HR compliance and data-privacy requirements (EEO, ACA, GDPR) as they affect systems and reporting.
- Self-directed and comfortable being the sole owner of the function; able to prioritize and execute without a team.
This position is eligible for health care benefits, life insurance, time off benefits and participation in the Company's 401(k) plan.
What we offer:
- Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits effective within 30 days (or less) of your start date
- 401K matching with no vesting period (you are fully vested as of day 1)
- Generous Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Paid Holidays
- Collaborative Work Environment
