Overview

The Workday Benefits & Leave Analyst (Level 1-2) is a key member of our Workday HRIS team, responsible for providing frontline support for Workday Benefits, Absence, and Holiday configurations. This role serves as Level 1-2 support for Workday Case management, compliance monitoring, union benefit administration, open enrollment coordination, configuration, auditing, and reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for partnering with cross-functional teams including HRIS, Payroll, Compliance, HR BusinessPartners, and Benefits to deliver exceptional employee experiences.

What You Will Do

As part of our Workday team, you will join an energized team of HRIS analysts and Benefits, delivering more than just technology---you will support, optimize, and maintain the way our HR organization works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as Level 1-2 support for Workday Benefits, Absence, Holidays, and Accrual inquiries via Workday Case management
  • Triage, prioritize, and resolve employee and HR Cases, escalating complex issues to Senior analysts as needed
  • Support configuration and maintenance of Workday Benefits, Absence, Holidays, Time Off plans, and Accruals
  • Monitor benefits and leave configurations for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (FMLA, ADA, state paid leave laws)
  • Administer union-specific benefit plans and ensure configurations align with collective bargaining agreements
  • Coordinate and support annual open enrollment planning, configuration, testing, execution, and issue resolution
  • Perform regular audits of Benefits, Absence, Holiday, and Accrual configurations to ensure data integrity
  • Develop and distribute standard and ad hoc reports using Workday Report Writer for Benefits, HR, Payroll, and Compliance teams
  • Configure and maintain holiday calendars for various locations, states, and union groups
  • Support accrual plan setup, balance adjustments, carryover rules, and payout configurations
  • Work under HRIS leadership, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Payroll, Compliance, HR Business Partners, Benefits, Finance and IT to resolve issues and drive process improvements
  • Maintain strong relationships with benefits vendors, ensuring seamless and compliant data flow
  • Participate in testing and validation for Workday releases, updates, and new functionality
  • Champion high levels of customer satisfaction and serve as a trusted resource for Workday Benefits and Absence
  • Provide support---where applicable---in related Workday functional areas including Time Tracking, Payroll, Compensation, Benefit integrations, Reporting, and more

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret datasets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights
  • Proven experience supporting Workday Benefits and Absence in multi-state, high-volume environments
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Case management and providing Level 1-2 support
  • Working knowledge of employee benefits and leave of absence programs (FMLA, state paid leave, ADA, etc.)
  • Experience with Workday configuration for Benefits, Absence, Holidays, and Time Off plans
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Workday reporting tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical concepts and create comprehensive documentation
