    Description

    The Human Resources Specialist coordinates and processes a variety of activities associated with the Human Resources Department.  Provides a variety of administrative duties to support the Human Resources Department.

     

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Helps manage and process human resources activities including onboarding, payroll, new hires, terminations, leave requests, timekeeping, and other routine functional human resources work.
    • Works with manager to expedite the hiring process. Post open positions, update applicant tracking system, screen resumes, pre-screen qualified candidates, reference checks, background screens and schedule testing.  Organize and make arrangements for candidates' on-site interviews.
    • Track, prepare and maintain accurate employment records in accordance with regulatory requirements related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, and promotions.
    • Coordinates and communicates various employee related events throughout the year such as open enrollment, benefits fair, health fair, compliance training, etc.
    • Assisting in new hire on-boarding program and act as a company ambassador to support new hires as they become acquainted with company culture, values and resources.  Providing new hires with the appropriate paperwork and details of their new role.
    • Works closely with payroll to ensure data collection is accurate.  Back-up for payroll processing as needed.
    • Assisting with audits, compliance reviews, and other mandatory reports.
    • Assist with the implementation of HR projects and/or initiatives.
    • Performs periodic audits of HR files and quality checks of HRIS data; ensures data integrity in HR systems and the accuracy of information filed.
    • Knowledgeable in regulatory human resource issues including ADA, EEO, FLSA and FMLA.  
    • Assisting in Affirmative Action Plan and Performance Management program. 
    • Organize and facilitate summer internship program.
    • Manage APC's learning management system including the creation and assignment on E-learnings
    • Help administer Company personnel policies and administer benefit programs.
    • This position may require overtime for coverage on alternate shifts and weekends.
    • Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.
    • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

     

    Requirements:

    • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College; or minimum of three years related human resources experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
    • Familiar in Safety and OSHA requirement a plus.
    • Familiarity with employment law (state and federal) and regulations (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.).
    • Experience with HR/payroll technology (Ceridian Dayforce preferred).
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
    • Recruiting experience in related manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, working under minimal supervision, attention to detail and customer service oriented.
    • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information is required.
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
    • Must be highly organized and a self-starter.
