Job Opportunity: HR Specialist Are you a meticulous and dependable team player with a passion for customer service, organization, and supporting employees? We invite you to join our KAAPA team as an HR Specialist at our Kearney location. This role will support the HR Manager with a variety of human resources, recruiting, benefits, payroll, compliance, and training-related responsibilities while maintaining confidentiality of all company information. Job Responsibilities:- Assist in maintaining human resource information system records and compile reports from Paycor.
- Assist with government filings, audits, and preparation of filings and responses to ensure accurate and timely completion.
- Manage the Incline software solution and administer assessments to candidates.
- Schedule phone screens, candidate visits, and work with management throughout the hiring process.
- Coordinate pre-employment screenings with candidates during the post-offer process.
- Maintain all new hire documentation for employee files.
- Maintain I-9 files and perform internal audits for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate with management and the safety department to ensure training and required access are arranged prior to the first day of employment.
- Assist in managing and coordinating open enrollment, new hire enrollment, benefit changes, and terminations.
- Process bi-weekly payroll.
- Communicate benefit information to employees and act as a contact for benefit questions, escalating issues to benefit providers as needed.
- Perform audits of benefit information for accuracy and compliance.
- Perform month-end procedures for payroll and benefit information using consistent closing procedures.
- Administer leave of absence programs.
- Maintain company job descriptions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws.
- Travel to locations and meetings as needed.
Working Hours:- Monday - Friday: 8am - 4:30pm with additional hours required during harvest and as required throughout the year.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, accounting, or another related field required
- Valid driver’s license with the State of Nebraska required and insurable with KAAPA Ethanol Holdings, LLC vehicle insurance policy.
- Human resources, payroll, safety, benefits, recruiting, compliance, or related administrative experience preferred.
- Able to multi-task and maintain order and control over tasks.
- Able to manage with a high level of professionalism, ethics, and accountability to serve as a positive role model within the company.
- Attention to detail with the ability to self-check work for accuracy, clarity, and thoroughness.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Possess organizational skills necessary to achieve promptness in meeting deadlines.
- Able to be at work on time, ensuring work responsibilities are covered when absent.
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Able to approach relationships and work in a manner that is open, honest, trustworthy, and fair.
- Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Experience with HRIS software systems preferred.
- Expertise with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
