As an HR Shared Services Manager, you'll lead the teams and programs that power the employee experience behind the scenes. From onboarding and employment services to HR support and compliance, you'll ensure our people receive timely, accurate, and high-quality service throughout their journey with Whataburger.

Day-to-Day Ingredients - Responsibilities

As an HR Shared Services Manager, you will:

• Lead the HR Shared Services team in delivering exceptional support and service.
• Drive service excellence through performance metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure accurate and timely execution of employee lifecycle transactions and processes.
• Oversee HR case management, escalations, and issue resolution.
• Champion compliance across employment, onboarding, and workforce administration processes.
• Serve as a key resource for HR systems, process governance, and operational best practices.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
• Manage vendor relationships and service delivery performance.
• Develop, coach, and inspire a high-performing team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.

What You Bring to the Table - Required Experience

As an HR Shared Services Manager, you must have:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of Human Resources, Shared Services, or employee support experience.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of HR operations, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes.
• Experience using data and metrics to drive decisions and improve service delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with HR systems and technology platforms.

Extra Toppings - Desired Experience

As an HR Shared Services Manager, we prefer you to have:

• Experience leading an HR Service Center, Shared Services, or contact center environment.
• Knowledge of I-9, E-Verify, and employment eligibility processes.
• Experience supporting HR technology implementations or system enhancements.
• Experience driving process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
• PHR, SPHR, or similar HR certification.
• HDI certification or service management experience.

Where & How You'll Work

This role is based at the San Antonio Home Office, working on‑site Monday through Thursday with remote flexibility on Fridays. In this role, you'll have strong collaboration with leadership, across cross-functional teams, and with external partners to align capabilities with restaurant realities. The work environment is fast‑paced and requires sound judgment, strategic thinking, and strong collaboration skills. Full‑time availability is required, with occasional extended hours based on business needs, along with occasional travel to properties, project sites, and external meetings. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of the San Antonio Home Office.
