HR & Safety Manager (Bilingual English/Spanish)

Job Title: HR & Safety Manager (Bilingual English/Spanish)

Location: Dahlonega, GA (on-site)

Status: Full-time, Exempt

Compensation: $77,000–$85,000 ($72,000–$80,000 base plus a $5,000 bilingual premium)

MAJOR PURPOSE OF THIS JOB:

Be the on-site HR leader for our Dahlonega manufacturing plant, where many team members speak Spanish as their first language. You will own employee relations, recruiting, leave, and payroll, and lead plant safety with hands-on support and training from our corporate Health & Safety team. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Human Resources (primary focus)

• Serve as the go-to HR resource for employees and managers, in English and Spanish.
• Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, including performance, conduct, and workplace conflict, with clear, consistent documentation.
• Lead recruiting and onboarding: post openings, interview, hire, run background checks and Form I-9, and maintain ATS records.
• Administer benefits and leave (including FMLA), enter payroll requests, approve timecards, and audit payroll registers.
• Deliver HR communications, compliance training, and engagement initiatives in English and Spanish.

Safety & Workers’ Compensation (supported by corporate Health & Safety)

• Manage workers’ compensation claims from first report of injury through return to work and closure.
• Run the monthly Safety Committee, conduct floor audits, and investigate incidents with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Deliver new hire safety orientation, coordinate OSHA training in English and Spanish, and maintain OSHA recordkeeping.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• On-site at the Dahlonega plant, with time split between the office and the production floor.
• Required PPE is worn on the production floor.
• OSHA 10-Hour must be completed within the first 90 days if not already held (training provided).

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required

• Fluent in English and Spanish, written and spoken, sufficient to lead investigations and disciplinary conversations without an interpreter. Both languages are assessed during the interview process.
• 3+ years as an HR Generalist or in a similar broad HR role, handling employee relations, investigations, and corrective action from start to finish.
• Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, Title VII, FLSA, and Form I-9.
• Experience with an HRIS (Workday a plus) and Microsoft 365, including Excel for sorting, filtering, formulas, and basic reports.
• Sound judgment, discretion, and strict confidentiality.

Preferred

• Safety or workers’ compensation experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
• HR experience in manufacturing, construction, or another production environment.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
