    Job Description

    The HR/Payroll Specialist plays a key role in managing employee relations, payroll, and organizational development. This role supports the implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure a productive and compliant workplace environment.


    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

    • Process payroll accurately and on schedule, includes (multi-state & international)
    • Review payroll reports and employee information to ensure processing accuracy.
    • Understand and implement multi-state payroll tax requirements, payroll adjustments, and employee status changes.
    • Coordinate payroll processing with the company's payroll providers.
    • Communicate with employees and managers regarding payroll questions, corrections, and policy.
    • Assist with employee benefits administration, including enrollments, qualifying life events, and annual open enrollment.
    • Ensure compliance with California wage and hour laws and other applicable state and federal regulations.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information.
    • Support HR initiatives, onboarding, and administrative projects as needed.
    • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies.



    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years of payroll experience, with at least 1-2 years at an advanced or specialist level.
    • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of California and federal payroll laws, and experience with complex payroll scenarios, including tax laws, garnishments, and benefits coordination.
    • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex preferred) and strong analytical skills, with expertise in Excel and reporting tools.
    • Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally and with integrity.
