Human Resources / Payroll Coordinator

Location: Waterbury CT area

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Title: Human Resources / Payroll Coordinator

Pay Rate: $25-$32/hour

Ultimate Staffing is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources / Payroll Coordinator to support a broad range of HR, payroll, recruiting, and administrative functions. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and leadership while helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of Human Resources and payroll processes.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative environment, balancing multiple priorities, and providing outstanding support across employee relations, benefits administration, payroll, recruiting coordination, and office administration. Key Responsibilities

  • Process and support payroll activities using Ceridian software.
  • Assist with employee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and employee inquiries.
  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits-related questions.
  • Support employee relations activities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Coordinate with staffing agencies to help meet hiring and workforce needs.
  • Assist with recruiting efforts, candidate coordination, and onboarding activities.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Perform HR and payroll data entry while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with personnel file maintenance and general HR administration.
  • Order office and operational supplies and coordinate vendor requests as needed.
  • Support reporting, documentation, and other administrative projects.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to provide responsive customer service and employee support.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Human Resources, Payroll, HR Coordination, or a related administrative role.
  • Experience processing payroll or supporting payroll administration.
  • Familiarity with employee relations and benefits administration.
  • Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential employee and payroll information.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience using Ceridian payroll software.
  • Experience coordinating with staffing agencies or supporting recruiting activities.
  • Exposure to Accounts Payable, invoicing, or administrative accounting functions.
  • Experience supporting onboarding, personnel records, and HR compliance processes.
  • Manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or industrial environment experience is a plus.
