Summary
Our client is looking for an experienced HR professional to manage and run the daily functions of their office including administering pay, benefits, and managing all leaves of absence for team members. This is including leaves such as FMLA, ADA, vacation, and sick leave days to name a few. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws according to company policies and practices. The ideal candidate would be competent in handling different human resources responsibilities and have sufficient professional experience along with strong communication skills. You will assist with providing a positive team member experience and will plan and administer all company policies related to all phases of Human Resources activity by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, with other duties being assigned as needed:
- Processes payroll (as needed) and maintains attendance records/point systems. Monitor and record turn-over reports and communicates with management to identify employee relations issues.
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting comply.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism. Acts as a liaison between the management team and the employees to align the business unit and foster a high-performance culture.
- Coaches Managers and Supervisors in proper employee relations resolutions, including documented coaching and disciplinary action.
- Strong presentation skills and willingness to train and speak in group settings.
- Trains managers and employees on the function and use of payroll app
- Recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
- Gains a strong understanding of company benefits to assist employees with their benefit options. Helps with problem resolutions. Administers benefits life events, and open enrollment activities.
- Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
- Manages off boarding process including preparing employee separation notices and related documentation, network access termination and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Oversee and administer leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention particularly those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), and state and local leave laws, and short-term or long-term disability plans.
- Manages team members leave requests to include creating and updating company policies related to vacation time, sick days, holidays, etc.
- Primary point of contact for team members who need time off or other types of leave.
- Communicates with team members about changes to benefits package, work hours, work schedules, and other policies and procedures.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verification.
- Process new hire paperwork and internal promotions in all platforms.
- Assists with hiring events, onboarding and extending job offers.
- Conduct new hire orientation.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and performance and talent management; recognition and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex investigations and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in team member disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Organize hard and soft copies of employee records.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Assist with HR projects as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Experience and/or Education:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources required.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience as HR Generalist.
- Minimum of 2 years in painting/contractors' environment will make you stand out.
- Experience working with an hourly population preferred.

Mathematical Skills
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is a must.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $93,000.00 per year
