Our client, a growing and highly respected manufacturing company in Kalamazoo, MI, is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join their leadership team. The ideal HR Manager will be a strategic business partner who can balance day-to-day human resources responsibilities with long-term workforce planning. This HR Manager will work closely with leadership to support business objectives, develop talent, and ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.

HR Manager Responsibilities

As the HR Manager, you will:

• Lead the full spectrum of human resources functions, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.

• Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs that support organizational goals.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and labor regulations.

• Partner with leadership teams to drive employee engagement initiatives and support organizational growth.
• 
  
• Oversee payroll administration, employee benefits programs, and HR reporting metrics.
• 
  
• Manage employee concerns, investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes with professionalism and consistency.

• Design and lead training and development initiatives to strengthen employee skills and career advancement opportunities.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees on all human resources matters.

HR Manager Qualifications

To be successful in this HR Manager role, candidates should possess:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 
  
• 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• 
  
• Strong understanding of employment law, HR compliance, and best practices.
• 
  
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• 
  
• Proven ability to influence leaders and drive positive organizational change.
• 
  
• Professional HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are strongly preferred.
