Contract

Our client is a leading global natural resources organization with a significant presence in the mining and materials industry. Their operations support the production of essential materials used across infrastructure, technology, manufacturing, and energy applications.

They are seeking an HR Leave Management Representative for a contract assignment supporting their Human Resources team through January 2027. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys helping employees navigate leave-related processes while balancing detailed case administration, customer service, compliance requirements, and confidential employee information. The successful candidate will work closely with employees, internal HR partners, and external service providers to ensure leave cases are handled accurately, consistently, and within established service timelines.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Administer employee leave cases by helping employees understand applicable leave types, responsibilities, required documentation, and available resources throughout their leave.
  • Manage ongoing case communications through phone and email, providing employees with timely updates and ensuring required information is received and documented according to established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate leave records by updating case management systems, appropriately coding employee time, and coordinating information with HR, Safety, and external leave or benefits administrators.
  • Support daily leave-management operations by monitoring shared inboxes, assisting with workers’ compensation-related intake, and providing coverage for team members when needed.
  • Research and resolve employee inquiries, identify potential issues, minimize unnecessary escalations, and contribute suggestions that may improve leave-management processes and service delivery.

Here’s what our ideal candidate has:

  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources, leave administration, disability management, or a related HR environment; alternatively, a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), Workers' Compensation, Military Leave, and Personal Leave is highly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees regarding sensitive and sometimes complex situations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to protect confidential information, maintain accurate records, and manage a high volume of work while meeting established service levels.
  • Ability to identify important issues, exercise sound judgment within established guidelines, work effectively under supervision, and remain organized in a fast-paced administrative environment.

Additional Details

Because this position involves confidential employee information and frequent phone conversations, candidates must have a private, professional workspace at home suitable for handling sensitive discussions and administrative responsibilities.

The position is available remotely within the U.S., subject to applicable state employment restrictions. Candidates residing outside Arizona may be considered depending on their state of residence and business requirements.
