Human Resource Generalist
Pay Rate: $28-$32 DOE Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm Location: Portland, OR (Onsite)

Job Duties
  • Drive Culture: Foster core company values and promote a positive customer service experience while influencing cultural change across the organization.
  • Talent Acquisition: Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborate with departmental managers to understand required skills and competencies.
  • Onboarding & Compliance: Conduct background checks, verify employee eligibility, and assist with new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • HR Administration: Handle daily functions including administering compensation, benefits, leave, performance management, recognition, and occupational health and safety.
  • Employee Relations: Address employment-related inquiries from staff and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to appropriate leadership; participate in disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations as needed.
  • Process Improvement: Create and implement HR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline department workflows.
  • Project Leadership: Lead various HR projects, including UKG Recruiting implementation and compliance reporting.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Maintain thorough knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in human resources and employment law to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Human Resource Generalist experience working within a multi-state company environment.
  • Legal Knowledge: Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills with a proven ability to act with integrity and confidentiality.
  • Organization: Outstanding organizational skills, sharp attention to detail, and strong time-management capabilities to meet tight deadlines.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Preferred Skills
  • 3+ years of experience using UKG Pro with Workforce Management as an HRIS.
  • SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification.
