    JOB SUMMARY
    • Provide human resources support, guidance, and expertise.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • A working knowledge of human resources at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, and
    • 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • PHR/SHRM-CP certification.
    • Previous experience in the construction industry
    • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
    • Previous experience working with employees subject to collective bargaining agreements.
    • Previous experience with UKG (UltiPro).

    • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
    • Must be able to act with integrity and professionalism.
    • Advanced knowledge and skills working with HR technology and HRIS systems.
    • Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Requires attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.
    • Must be able to manage multiple projects and priorities and make sound decisions in a timely fashion.
    • Ability to function in a position designed to serve independent operating units in decentralized environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and organizational skills.
    • Must be able to maintain highly confidential and sensitive information and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
    • Must exercise initiative, judgment, and confidence as well as exhibit a strong desire to acquire knowledge of company practices, policies and procedures.
    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assist in the administration, communication, and interpretation of policies that relate to the human resources function.
    • Assist with day-to-day performance management guidance through coaching, counseling, career development, corrective action, conflict resolution, and leadership development.
    • Partner with managers and employees to strengthen working relationships, improve morale, increase employee engagement, and support retention initiatives.
    • Maintain extensive knowledge of federal, state, and employment laws to reduce organizational risk and ensure regulatory compliance and a working knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
    • Assist with the administration of Human Resources programs and policy guidance and interpretation.
    • Assist with the interpretation and communication of Human Resources policies while ensuring consistent application across multiple business units and construction projects.
    • Assist with updating job descriptions and posting positions internally and externally.
    • Facilitate pre-employment screenings including but not limited to criminal background checks, MVRs, and drug screens.
    • Assist with safety training/certification documentation and reporting.
    • Maintain employee files and HR data.
    • Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding, enter new hires into onboarding system, answer policy questions, and ensure programs and processes are up-to-date and compliant.
    • Support benefit administration by assisting with open enrollment meetings and answering basic benefit questions.
    • Assist with the FMLA process including, but not limited to, providing appropriate request forms, tracking, and administration.
    • Track and follow-up on company required training through the LMS.
    • Manage I-9 and E-Verify process for field employees.
    • Complete verifications of employment and other requests requiring employment verification per established processes and procedures.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
    • PHR/SHRM-CP; or must be able to obtain certification within one year of attaining this position.
    • Will be subject to the Company’s background check, MVR, and drug screen programs.
    • Will be subject to the Client’s background check and drug screen programs.
    • May be required to submit to periodic background checks and drug screens if position requires access to security sensitive business locations and/or systems.
    • This position is required to drive.
    • This position may require limited travel (less than 10%).
    • Work schedule may vary due to construction schedule; nights and/or weekend work may occasionally be required.
