Pay Ranges: $75,000 - $85,000 

 

The Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role supporting the success of our business by providing comprehensive human resources support to assigned manufacturing sites. The HR Generalist will primarily support the Rockdale, IL site but will also help support the HR function in other assigned manufacturing sites.  This role will partner closely with leaders to drive employee engagement and build a high-performing workforce.

 

Travel Requirement: up to 25%, to other assigned locations to provide HR support

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

Employee Relations: 

  • Provide general guidelines regarding company policies, procedures and practices to employees.
  • Oversee employee relations issues, disciplinary meetings, and investigations, including disciplinary actions, terminations and conflict resolutions to ensure fair and consistent application of company policies.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and other staff as complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodation, investigating allegations of wrongdoings and terminations.   
  • May assist HR Manager with day-to-day labor relations issues and actively participate in contract negotiations for assigned unionized manufacturing sites. 
  • Lead employee engagement and recognition initiatives.

 

Talent Acquisition:

  • Partner with the Global Talent Management team to manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.   
  • Manage the onboarding process for new employees.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Collaborate with the Total Rewards team to research and propose base and incentive pay programs to ensure competitive pay and benefits packages. 
  • Analyze compensation data and make recommendations for adjustments. 

 

Employee Development:

  • Design and implement employee learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops as needed.

 

HR Compliance, Data and Projects:

  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Analyze HR data and generate reports to track key metrics and identify trends.
  • Participate in and support various HR projects and initiatives including performance management, succession planning, continuous improvement. 
  • Manage HRIS processes for assigned areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience in human resources.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, an HRIS and automated time and attendance platform
  • Strong Talent Acquisition experience and employee advocate mindset
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Ability to make effective decisions, seek to find solutions to problems and make recommendations, work independently and understand when to escalate to management
  • This position will require some travel to other assigned locations to provide HR support

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)
  • Proficiency with SAP SuccessFactors and WorkForce Software
  • Some knowledge of labor relations and union support
  • Experience supporting multiple sites
  • HR experience within a manufacturing environment
