HR Coordinator / Recruiter (Part-Time)

Horizon is seeking an open and enthusiastic Human Resources Coordinator / Recruiter to support our recruiting and HR operations. This role will focus on early-stage recruiting activities, managing relationships with university co-op programs, and helping keep HR policies current and clearly communicated across the organization. This is a great opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented HR professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats and working independently in a remote environment.

Your Day-to-Day:

Recruiting Support

• Review incoming resumes and applications against job requirements
• Conduct initial candidate screenings (phone/video) to assess qualifications and fit
• Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS)
• Provide timely communication and a positive experience for candidates throughout the process

University Co-op Program Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for multiple university co-op and internship programs
• Build and maintain relationships with university career centers and program coordinators
• Manage co-op recruiting timelines, postings, and application cycles across partner schools
• Coordinate onboarding logistics for co-op/intern hires in partnership with internal stakeholders
• Track co-op program metrics and provide periodic updates to leadership

Policy Administration & Employee Communication

• Support the review and updating of HR policies to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Draft clear, employee-friendly communications summarizing policy updates
• Help maintain the employee handbook and internal policy documentation
• Track policy acknowledgments and ensure employees are informed of changes
• Field employee questions related to HR policies and escalate as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in HR, recruiting, or a related coordinator role
• Experience with resume screening and candidate interviewing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple programs and deadlines independently
• Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across time zones/teams
• Proficiency with ATS platforms & HRIS systems
• Discretion in handling confidential employee and candidate information

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting university co-op or internship programs
• Aerospace industry experience is a significant asset
• Familiarity with HR policy development or employee handbook management
• Experience working part-time or in a fractional/flexible capacity
