    Location: Providence, RI 02912

    Duration: 3+ months of Contract

    Shift: Monday to Friday, (8:30 AM 5:00 PM)

    Description

    • We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused HR Coordinator to support the University Human Resources department at university.
    • This role serves as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries and plays a key role in onboarding, employee support, and maintaining accurate HR records in a fast-paced academic environment.

    Job Summary

    • The HR Coordinator will provide front-line HR support by assisting employees, students, and new hires with inquiries related to HR policies, payroll, benefits, and Workday processes.
    • This role ensures smooth onboarding operations, accurate data management, and compliance with HR policies and federal regulations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for HR inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
    • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, benefits, payroll, and Workday self-service.
    • Support onboarding processes for faculty, staff, and student workers, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.
    • Review and approve Workday transactions related to onboarding and employee data.
    • Maintain accurate employee and student worker records within HR systems.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve HR-related issues, escalating complex cases when necessary.
    • Assist with payroll processes and maintain awareness of payroll schedules, including support for non-US employees.
    • Ensure compliance with federal Form I-9 regulations and employment verification processes.
    • Collaborate with HR specialists and cross-functional teams to resolve inquiries efficiently.
    • Track and monitor HR processes to ensure timely completion and accuracy.

    Education and Experience (Required)

    • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 1 2 years of experience in HR, administrative support, or customer service roles.

    Education and Experience (Preferred)

    • Experience working in higher education or union environments.
    • Familiarity with Workday or other HRIS systems.
    • Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred).

    Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities (Required)

    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
