Position Overview

Prairie Eye & LASIK is seeking a reliable and highly organized HR Generalist / HR Assistant to support the daily functions of our Human Resources department. This position works directly under the Operations Director and plays a key role in assisting with HR processes across our multi-location ophthalmology practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR function and Operations Director
  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting jobs, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates
  • Support onboarding processes, including preparing new hire paperwork, coordinating orientation, and ensuring completion of required documentation
  • Maintain and update employee records in HR systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Assist employees with basic HR-related questions and direct more complex issues to leadership as appropriate
  • Help coordinate employee training, compliance requirements, and credentialing documentation (HIPAA, OSHA, etc.)
  • Support benefits administration by assisting with enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries
  • Assist with payroll preparation by ensuring accurate employee data and time-off tracking
  • Help track PTO requests, attendance, and other employee data
  • Support performance management processes by assisting with documentation and scheduling
  • Assist in maintaining and updating HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook materials
  • Help organize employee engagement initiatives, meetings, and internal communications
  • Responsible for corporate safety, including drills (fire, tornado)

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of administrative or HR support experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday
  • May require occasional travel between clinic locations
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare setting
