We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented HR Assistant to work alongside our HR Manager. This role is ideal for an early-career HR professional looking to gain experience across multiple areas of human resources, including payroll, benefits administration, recruiting, employee relations, compliance, and HR operations.
As one of two HR team members, you will play a key role in supporting employees and helping the organization maintain efficient and compliant HR practices.

- Employment Type: Temp-to-hire on permanent
- Salary: $22-$26/hr, depending on experience level + benefits
Key Responsibilities
- Process and administer bi-weekly payroll through Paylocity while ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Manage employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), open enrollment, and employee education
- Coordinate recruiting efforts, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and onboarding activities across multiple departments and locations
- Maintain employee records and ensure HRIS data accuracy and integrity
- Administer leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other protected leaves
- Assist with compliance initiatives and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws
- Support HR audits, reporting, and recordkeeping requirements
- Organize employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and company events
- Identify and implement process improvements to support business growth and operational efficiency
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to employees and managers
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered
- 6 months or more of Human Resources experience (internship experience counts)
- Basic understanding of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience working with HRIS systems; Paylocity experience is preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
