Summary:
Manages day-to-day operations of production HPC cluster.
Installs, configures, and maintains Redhat Package Manager-based Linux distributions including RedHat and SuSE.
Monitors, manages, and controls interactive and batch processes, both scheduled and unscheduled.
Ensures engineering-defined batch processing and backups are completed in correct sequence and within established time periods.
Performs system tuning and optimizations to improve processing capabilities and efficiencies.
Monitors utilization needs and efficiencies and produces trend reports on tuning initiatives.
Performs proactive failure trend analysis and root cause analysis for all system failures.
Manages infiniband-based Linux HPC clusters and high-performance parallel storage.
Configures and manages cluster scheduling software for HPC environments.
Supports Linux-based scientific workstations running visualization applications.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
7 years of experience in HPC or scientific computing environment.
Experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of RPM-based Linux distributions (RedHat, SuSE).
Experience with management of infiniband-based Linux-based HPC clusters.
Experience with high-performance parallel storage management.
Experience with configuration and management of cluster scheduling software.
Experience managing high-performance computing low-latency and high-bandwidth interconnects.
Experience supporting Linux-based scientific workstations running visualization applications.
Experience with performing system upgrades and providing third-level support for end users.
