HOUSTON, TX (POST OAK AREA; LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED) - A warm, engaged family is seeking a full-time, live-out, long-term, professional bilingual nanny to join their nanny team and support the development of their happy and thriving 20-month-old son, with a second baby arriving in December. The family has flexibility on the start date but hopes to hire soon and is looking for someone who can provide a strong foundation in care, safety, and early education, while remaining flexible and collaborative as the role evolves. This position is primarily Houston-based, with occasional time in Louisiana and periodic domestic and international travel. Candidates should be willing to travel with the family with advance notice.
Sufficient newborn experience is required given the upcoming arrival. The family is also looking for someone with an energetic, lively presence who can keep pace with an active household, this is not a role suited to a more laid-back caregiving approach. This is a partner position to an additional nanny who works an alternating schedule and weekends.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood development and a genuine passion for education. The family would like the nanny to introduce structured learning opportunities in Spanish as the child grows. The family is also interested in age-appropriate enrichment and local educational classes, including weekly activities such as Gymboree and music class. A safety-minded caregiver who can manage daily routines, including cooking healthy meals, transporting the child to and from activities while thoughtfully supporting developmental milestones will thrive in this role.
This is a highly collaborative home with hands-on parents, so the nanny must be a true team player who communicates well and partners closely with the family. Spanish language exposure is strongly valued, as the child's grandmother is a Spanish speaker; candidates who can support or expand that exposure are encouraged to apply. The family is looking for someone excited to grow with them long-term, including the possibility of additional children in the future.
Schedule: The family has flexibility on hours per week. A candidate seeking full-time hours can be guaranteed 40 hours per week, though the family is also open to candidates seeking fewer hours, with 30+ hours per week considered full-time for full benefits.
Weekend coverage is required at a minimum of 2 weekends per month, as the family's travel typically spans at least one, sometimes two, weekends. If a nanny works a travel weekend, the expectation is that they would not be asked to work the following two weekends, to keep things fair across the nanny team; if both nannies end up traveling the same two weekends, the schedule will be worked out collaboratively. Candidates interested in working more than 2 weekends per month are welcome to do so.
Responsibilities include all aspects of childcare: maintaining routines, planning enriching activities, supporting educational development, meal planning/prep for the child, all child-related cleaning and laundry support, and ensuring overall well-being in a safe, nurturing environment. A proactive, engaging, developmentally minded approach is essential.
Requirements: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including sufficient newborn experience; strong communication skills; and the ability to take initiative in a dynamic household. Minimal phone use during working hours is expected. All standard vaccinations should be up to date. Candidates who are not currently living in Houston are encouraged to apply if they are interested in relocating independently.
Compensation: Competitive package starting at $30+/hour gross (commensurate with experience), plus full benefits, PTO, and annual performance bonus. This is intended to be a long-term role, and candidates should be open to signing an NDA.
Qualifications:
Targeted Annual Gross Salary (Min): USD $30.00/Hr. Number of Hours Per Week: 30+
