Starting Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour; depending on experience

The Housing Safety and Compliance Inspector plays an important role in helping ensure that our housing is safe, decent, sanitary, accessible, and compliant with applicable housing standards. This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in housing inspections, property Maintenance, affordable housing, building systems, code compliance, or HUD housing programs who wants to use those skills to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults and individuals receiving housing assistance. according to inventory minimums set and orders placed. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements for the Housing Safety and Compliance Inspector:

• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Be observant, organized, and comfortable working independently.
• Knowledge of HUD NSPIRE standards, affordable housing, HOPWA, building systems, property maintenance, Fair Housing, accessibility requirements, or local housing codes is a plus.**
• Ability to professionally interact with residents, housing partners, and other team members.
• Able to identify and clearly document physical housing deficiencies.
• Possess an active, valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regular travel throughout western Pennsylvania.

**Candidates who do not currently have all of the required experience should have the ability and willingness to gain knowledge and proficiency with the applicable requirements within 1 year of hire.
