Overview:
The incumbent in this position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderly appearance of an assigned area on the property. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).
Responsibilities:
- Pan sweep/collect trash in hallways.
- Check GRA carts for trash and dirty linen.
- Store supplies and stock shelves in Housekeeping locker room daily.
- Detail hallways including cleaning baseboards, carpet edges, lamps and shades, wiping down walls, tables, picture frames, mirrors, and wall signs. Refer to schedule for section of hallway you will be working on.
- Perform daily assignment.
- Clean guest elevator foyer daily.
- Maintain general cleanliness of guest hallways throughout the shift.
- Ensure Guest Room Attendant (GRA) carts are emptied of trash and linen throughout the shift, there should be a minimum of three passes per day.
- Maintain cleanliness of ice and vending areas including the floor and area beneath the machines.
- Maintain cleanliness of Housekeeping employee bathroom throughout the shift.
- Remove and replace trash container liners every morning on assigned guest floors.
- Report any maintenance defects to supervisor.
- Remove litter from sand urns.
- Dispose of boxes and trash left in service elevator area.
- Transport soiled duvets, bed skirts, bed pads, blankets, and pillows to the linen rooms before the end of the shift.
- Keep stairwell exits clean and free from debris.
- Deliver guests’ requested as needed.
- Check/maintain GRAs vacuums.
- Check all windows and mirrors.
- Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department.
Qualifications:
- Positive attitude.
- Impeccable grooming.
- Enthusiastic and energetic.
- Willing to comply with all rules and policies as set forth by the Hotel and department.
- Communication skills as needed to receive and respond to instructions given by the Housekeeping Department as well as applying to personal safety and guest safety.
- At least six months experience in Housekeeping or a similar environment.
- Must have ability to multi task and exhibits flexibility.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to use a radio.
- Ride on vacuum (Chariot Ride on Vacuum), tug, and move a flatbed cart.
- Use all PPE as designed and required for each area assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
- Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and members of management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
- Must be able to complete standard forms and reports.
