    An Event Houseperson plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings, and special events are successfully executed. This position is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down event spaces while providing exceptional support to guests and event teams. Event Housepersons help create a welcoming and organized environment by preparing rooms according to event specifications, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and responding promptly to operational and guest needs.

    Responsibilities

    • Set up and break down tables, chairs, linens, staging, and other event equipment according to event specifications.
    • Arrange décor, lighting, and other event elements to ensure meeting and event spaces are presentation-ready.
    • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of banquet rooms, meeting spaces, hallways, storage areas, and service areas.
    • Monitor, inventory, and properly care for banquet supplies, equipment, and event materials.
    • Perform routine cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping surfaces, and removing trash.
    • Assist with furniture movement and room reconfigurations as needed.
    • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and service needs.
    • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
    • Refresh meeting rooms during breaks by replenishing supplies and ensuring spaces remain clean and organized.
    • Clean and reset meeting and event rooms according to departmental standards.
    • Maintain knowledge of daily banquet events, room setups, and event order requirements.
    • Verify that all event details and setup requests are completed accurately and in accordance with event orders.
    • Support the successful execution of meetings, conferences, and special events by collaborating with team members and other departments.
    • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

    Qualifications

    • Passion for providing exceptional service and creating positive experiences for guests and team members.

    • Ability to perform all Event Houseperson duties and safely operate job-related tools and equipment

    • Approaches challenges with professionalism and a solution-oriented mindset, even in high-volume environments.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

    • Ability to read, understand, and follow safety guidelines, policies, and operational procedures.

    • Highly organized with the ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.

    • Physical stamina to consistently lift, push, and pull heavy items and equipment throughout the shift.

    • Ability to stand for extended periods and walk moderate distances as required.

    • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb while performing daily duties.

    • Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    • Reliable, dependable, and committed to supporting successful meetings, events, and guest experiences.
