Housekeeping/Technician - Casual Call - Environmental Services

Position Summary

The Housekeeper/Environmental Services Technician helps provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role supports infection prevention practices through cleaning, sanitation, waste removal, linen distribution, and supply management.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, surgical areas, offices, restrooms, lobbies, elevators, stairwells, and other facility spaces.
• Maintain floors, surfaces, furniture, fixtures, windows, and equipment according to department standards.
• Collect and dispose of trash, recyclables, medical waste, and soiled linens following safety and infection control guidelines.
• Prepare patient rooms and designated equipment for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Refill supply dispensers and maintain housekeeping inventories and storage areas.
• Respond to spills and report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
• Operate housekeeping equipment and follow all safety, infection prevention, and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• No prior experience required. Housekeeping, hospitality, or healthcare environmental services experience is a plus.

 Physical Requirements

• Able to lift up-to 35 lbs., push/pull up to 50 lbs., and move equipment such as hospital beds and carts.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift.
• Ability to work around cleaning chemicals, infectious materials, and varying temperatures while wearing required PPE.

Shift: Working Casual Call, meaning you work as needed. Casual Calls get an additional 10% differential for hours worked.

 Shift differentials offered as a percentage of base rate: 10% for PM shift
