Position Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supervising the maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the facility to ensure a welcoming environment for entertainers, guests, patrons, and staff. This role plays a critical part in event readiness by ensuring all areas are clean, organized, and presentable at all times. The Housekeeping Supervisor is expected to communicate in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner, providing timely and accurate information to guests and colleagues, and seeking assistance when needed. This position requires strong teamwork and collaboration across departments to support seamless operations and a positive guest experience.

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00 - $21.00.

About the Venue

Rio Rancho Events Center is a 7,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, a city located near Albuquerque. The arena is located near the intersection of Unser Boulevard and Paseo del Volcan. It is part of a larger "City Center" project, which also includes a new city hall. The multipurpose facility can host concert settings in various capacities, including hockey, basketball, indoor football, family shows, rodeos, trade shows, and flexible setups to accommodate any event.

Responsibilities

• Assist the department manager with scheduling, supervision, and general administrative tasks for housekeeping contractors as well as facilities housekeepers.
• Assist the department manager with training of facilities housekeepers.
• Assist the department manager with inventory and ordering of supplies.
• Perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the housekeeping, cleaning, and maintenance of the facility and assets.
• Work from general instructions and specifications, with minimal supervision.
• Assist in ensuring venues'' cleanliness and day-to-day janitorial needs are met and maintained.
• Operate a variety of hand-operated equipment used in the cleaning and maintenance of the facility, such as vacuum cleaners, polishers, shampooers, and other cleaning and maintenance equipment as required.
• Perform housekeeping, cleaning, and maintenance of facility spaces and fixtures such as floors, walls, windows, doors, offices, meeting rooms, corridors, lobbies, elevators, washrooms, sinks, toilets, urinals, tables, chairs, staging, and other spaces, articles, and fixtures.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work-staff, contractors, and facility users.
• Work effectively in a service-oriented environment subject to frequently changing priorities.
• Work on a need basis, which could include early mornings, days, evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, extended (long) workdays, and extended numbers of days.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior experience supervising housekeeping, janitorial services, or facility maintenance teams is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook email programs
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment, including safe operation of vacuums, floor machines, and other maintenance tools.
• Ability to work independently from general instructions with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain cleanliness across a wide range of facility areas (e.g., restrooms, offices, public spaces, and event areas).
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, contractors, and guests.
• Must have reliable and flexible availability, including willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as needed.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move heavy objects.
• Ability to work inside or outside environments.
• Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
