Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our housekeeping team. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department and ensuring the facility maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance. The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a key role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise, train, and support housekeeping staff to ensure quality performance and compliance with facility standards.
- Coordinate and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
- Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms, common areas, offices, and other facility spaces to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.
- Ensure proper use of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment in accordance with safety and infection control guidelines.
- Assist with housekeeping duties as needed, including cleaning, sanitizing, dusting, mopping, and maintaining assigned areas.
- Ensure resident rooms, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Monitor department inventory and communicate supply needs.
- Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, resident satisfaction, and quality service.
- Maintain compliance with all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping supervisory experience required.
- Healthcare, long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, hotel, or environmental services experience preferred.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Must demonstrate patience, professionalism, and a positive attitude when interacting with residents, families, coworkers, and visitors.
- Compassion and respect for elderly and disabled individuals are essential.
- Must be capable of performing the essential job functions and physical requirements of the position.
