Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring they meet the hotel’s high standards. This role involves inspecting rooms, coordinating with housekeeping staff, cleaning rooms in times of staffing needs and providing feedback to ensure that all areas are maintained to the highest level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
o Inspect guest rooms and public areas after they have been cleaned to ensure they meet hotel standards.
o Check that all furniture, fixtures, and appliances are clean, functional, and in good condition.
o Verify that all amenities are properly stocked and that rooms are ready for guest occupancy.
o Report any maintenance issues or room discrepancies to the appropriate department for resolution.
o Provide feedback to housekeeping staff on the quality of their work, offering guidance and training as needed.
o Assist in the assignment of daily tasks to housekeeping staff to ensure efficient operations.
o Monitor the progress of room cleaning and ensure timely completion in line with the hotel's schedule.
o Support the housekeeping team during busy periods or when additional help is needed.
o Respond promptly to guest inquiries or complaints related to room cleanliness, resolving issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
o Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with guests, addressing their concerns promptly.
o Ensure that all housekeeping activities comply with hotel policies and local health and safety regulations.
o Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, particularly regarding the handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
o Report any potential safety hazards or security concerns to management immediately.
o Maintain accurate records of room inspections, including any issues identified and actions taken.
o Communicate regularly with the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager about the status of room readiness and any ongoing concerns.
o Assist in inventory control by monitoring the use of cleaning supplies and reporting when reordering is necessary.
Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the property.
