Job Summary
Mesilla Valley Hospital is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Maintenance professional to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine housekeeping duties throughout the facility while adhering to infection control, safety, and risk management standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning of patient rooms, offices, hallways, and public areas.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and remove trash from assigned areas.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of housekeeping supply closets.
- Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are safely stored when not in use and secured from patient access when in use.
- Replenish supplies, including paper products, soap, and other housekeeping materials as needed.
- Ensure adequate linens are available and stocked throughout the facility.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and risk-free environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Report any maintenance, safety, or environmental concerns that may impact patient or employee well-being.
- Follow established infection control protocols, OSHA regulations, and facility safety policies and procedures.
- Support departmental initiatives to maintain cleanliness and patient satisfaction standards.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping, environmental services, janitorial, or maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience working in a healthcare, hospital, nursing home, or behavioral health facility is a plus.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and infection control guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
