Description

Job Summary
At TownePlace Suites, we help extended-stay guests settle into their routine with comfortable, apartment-style living. The Housekeeping Inspector / Assistant ensures our suites meet the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and Marriott brand compliance. This role splits time between inspecting guest rooms (with a strong focus on full kitchens), supporting and training room attendants, and assisting the Executive Housekeeper with daily operations, inventory, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Detailed Room Inspections: Inspect guest suites daily, paying special attention to full kitchens (ensuring appliances, dishes, utensils, and cookware are immaculately clean, organized, and fully stocked according to brand inventory checklists).
  • Extended-Stay Prep: Ensure stayover cleans and deep-cleaning schedules for long-term guests are executed efficiently and up to standard.
  • Team Support & Training: Assist in training, mentoring, and guiding room attendants and housepersons. Provide constructive feedback and follow up on re-cleaning when necessary.
  • Front Desk & Status Coordination: Communicate room readiness and status updates in real-time with the Front Desk to facilitate smooth check-ins and accommodate early arrivals.
  • Maintenance & Safety Tracking: Identify and log maintenance issues (e.g., broken appliances, plumbing leaks, chipped paint) using Marriott’s property management systems to ensure immediate resolution.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor linen closets, chemical supplies, and kitchen inventory items. Help coordinate ordering and distribution to prevent shortages.
  • Leadership Assistance: Step in to manage daily housekeeping boards, open or close the department, and lead morning huddles in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: 1–2 years of hotel housekeeping experience required. Previous supervisory, team lead, or inspection experience in an extended-stay hotel is highly preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional eye for cleanliness, organization, and presentation—especially regarding kitchen setups.
  • Communication: Clear verbal communication skills to coordinate effectively with guests, housekeeping staff, and other hotel departments.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and push heavy carts for the duration of an 8-hour shift.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Willing to work a flexible schedule aligned with occupancy needs, including weekends & holidays. Canadaite needs to have open availability for peak Fridays and Sundays check-out days to ensure smooth housekeeping operations and guest service.
