Housekeeper

Job Summary

The purpose of this job is cleaning and servicing of building area as required.

Qualifications

• Willingness and ability to follow simple directions.
• Previous experience or on-the-job training.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive duties.
• Warmth and consideration for residents.
• Some judgment and initiative in carrying out duties in an orderly fashion.
• Knowledge of common housekeeping equipment.
• Aware of standard procedures in cleaning and maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleans and mops
• Dusts
• Attends to trash, sharp containers, dirty linens, etc. Keeping Universal Precautions in mind / use at all times.
• Scours and polishes bath and toilet room areas
• Performs a variety of related duties
• Assists with laundry of residents’ personal items
• Keeps the residents environment clean at all times
• Frequent lifting and / or carrying heavy objects; stooping, kneeling or crawling with moderate effort; climbing of ladders and stairs, reaching, handling is required often with moderate effort; pushing and pulling for long periods.
• Exposure to dirt, dust, hazardous substances and equipment does exist; they occur until area is cleaned.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive duties.
